HIMSS ASQ

Welcome to the HIMSS Stories of Success!

Call for Case Studies, in co-sponsorship with the American Society for Quality (ASQ). This program recognizes healthcare organizations that have leveraged health IT to demonstrate fulfillment of national priorities recommended by the National Priorities Partnership (NPP) and The Joint Commission’s (TJC) National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG).

“With ARRA provisions being rolled out, with the requirements for Meaningful Use of HIT as the centerpiece, we are now faced with an explicit merging of HIT adoption and performance improvement.  The Stories of Success project is focused on linking the use of HIT with two major national initiatives to generate change, The Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals and the National Priorities Partnership recommendations for national focus for improvement activities. The SQUIRE—Standards for QUality Improvement Reporting Excellence — provides for a structured reporting tool that deals with all of the important dimensions of the case studies and will facilitate generalizability.”
