Christel Anderson, MA
Vice President, Informatics
Christel Anderson is the Vice President of Informatics for HIMSS: a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information and technology.
In this role, Christel executes and directs interoperability initiatives including HIMSS Global Interoperability Showcases, ConCert by HIMSS, interoperability testing & certification services and the HIMSS Innovation Center. Christel has served as a PCORI Grant Reviewer, CMMI Technical Chair, Alliance for Nursing Informatics Governing Directors, the TIGER Initiative Foundation Board of Directors, Lincoln Park Zoo Auxiliary Board, FORUM Editorial and the Association Forum Content Committee. She has published, lectured and contributed to research on Clinical Informatics.
Christel joined HIMSS in 2006 as Interim Coordinator, Informatics. In 2010 she was named Director, Clinical Informatics. In 2015, she became the Senior Director, Interoperability Initiatives. She is the recipient of the ASAE & Association Forum Forty under 40 Award, the HIMSS Award of Excellence and the TIGER Leadership Award.
Anderson earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill, and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois.
