Director, Clinical Informatics
Tammy Kwiatkoski is Director, Clinical Informatics, for HIMSS: a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information and technology.
Tammy first joined HIMSS in 2011 as Senior Manager, Operations. In this role, she directed and fostered connections between HIMSS North America, the 55 North American HIMSS chapters and internal staff. In December of 2015, she transitioned to her current role of Director, Clinical Informatics. Tammy leads clinical informatics initiatives, goals, strategies, resources, research, strategic relationships and related membership activities within HIMSS. She also serves as the organization’s primary content liaison for clinical informatics communities and leads efforts to ensure the external alignment of the Alliance for Nursing Informatics (25 organizations), HIMSS-SIM Enterprise Imaging Community and the Health Technology Alliance Community strategies. Tammy also manages the OJNI (Online Journal of Nursing Informatics) peer-reviewed publication and Clinical Informatics Insights eNewsletter Editorial Board and process. Before joining HIMSS, Tammy worked in community affairs, government affairs, and project development. She brings forth years of versatile experience to HIMSS, where her leadership and strategic planning skills prove a valuable contribution to the organization. Tammy earned her B.A. in Communications – Public Relations and Journalism at Loyola University. She also holds a master’s degree in business administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
