AcademyHealth - In partnership with AcademyHealth, HIMSS is pleased to collaborate on Health Datapalooza – bringing together leading innovators to ensure the secure and meaningful transformation of data into new capabilities that deliver innovation in health policy and practice. The collaboration will also power a year-round suite of activities and outreach focused on advances in digital health applications, data resources, and evidence to improve health and health care.

Alliance for Nursing Informatics (ANI) : ANI is a collaboration of organizations that represent a unified voice for nursing informatics and provides the synergy and structure needed to advance the efforts of nursing informatics professionals in improving the delivery of patient care.

American Bar Association (ABA) : HIMSS and the ABA share the common objectives of educating the legal and medical professions and serving the public, the legal profession, and the medical profession through educational activities, collaboration, and fostering communications.

American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) : ASHP advocates for and supports the professional practice of pharmacists in hospitals, health systems, ambulatory care clinics, and other settings spanning the full spectrum of medication use. ASHP serves its members as their collective voice on issues related to medication use and public health. HIMSS participates in the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology (SOPHIT) that connects specialists in the practice of pharmacy and informatics to share common professional interest and goals.  

Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS) : HIMSS and AMDIS collaborate on multiple initiatives including the AMDIS/HIMSS Physicians’ Executive IT Symposium held in conjunction with the HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition, and the HIMSS-AMDIS Physician Executive Leader of the Year Award.

BioEnterprise : HIMSS and BioEnterprise collaborate on the Medical Capital Innovation Competition . It is a two-day event for professional and collegiate teams with the best ideas for using big data to solve critical healthcare challenges. Challenge winners are awarded $100,000 in prizes, mentoring and access to industry collaborators and customers.

College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) : CHIME and HIMSS have held a special, collaborative relationship for many years. In addition to our joint membership offering, the CHIME-HIMSS CIO Forum, and the CHIME-HIMSS CIO of the Year Award are highlights of collaborations at the HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition.

CommonWell Health Alliance : CommonWell and HIMSS collaborate on health information exchange and interoperability initiatives by providing education and fostering communications.

Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS) : CMSS and HIMSS collaborate to support the Physicians EHR Coalition (PEHRC) to increase physician participation and improve knowledge about the value and best use of digital health technologies and analytics such as electronic health records (EHRs), help them select systems, and focus on high-quality and affordable solutions.

Cross Border Health : Cross Border Health and HIMSS are working together to transform health in Canada and the United States through joint education opportunities, collaboration, and engaging in policy efforts.

Electronic Health Record Association (EHRA) : The EHRA is a trade association of Electronic Health Record (EHR) companies, addressing national efforts to create interoperable EHRs in hospital and ambulatory care settings.

HL7 : HL7 and HIMSS collaborate to convene healthcare leaders, provide educational resources, and equip stakeholders to advance interoperability industry best practice through the development of interoperability solutions.

Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) : As a leading innovator, convener, partner, and driver of results in health and health care improvement worldwide, IHI works collaboratively with HIMSS to educate and promote patient safety and the quality of the care.

Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise USA (IHE USA) : IHE USA improves our nation's healthcare by promoting the adoption and use of IHE and other world-class standards, tools, and services for interoperability.  

Institute for eHealth Policy : A key component of the HIMSS Foundation’s charitable, scientific, and educational mission, the Institute for e-Health Policy arranges research and educational opportunities for students and healthcare stakeholders in Washington, DC, and through a virtual environment.  

National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) : HIMSS and NACHC work collaboratively to engage community health leaders and forge solutions to the most pressing challenges faced by community health centers through the best use of information and technology.

National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) : HIMSS and NACCHO collaborate to offer opportunities to educate and support stakeholders around industry best practices as it relates to public health informatics and interoperability initiatives.  

National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) : HIMSS and NCPDP co-provide a virtual Pharmacy Town Hall Series each year. The purpose of the Town Hall Series is to increase awareness, identify the impact and promote the advancement of pharmacy and technology by bringing together thought leaders and content.

National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) : HIMSS and the NCSA collaborate to create healthcare cybersecurity resources. HIMSS is a Champion of National Cyber Security Awareness Month as well as Data Privacy Day.  

National Health IT Collaborative for the Underserved : HIMSS and the NHIT Collaborative work together to convene diverse stakeholders around the value of health IT through support of events and highlighting resources.  

Network for Excellence in Health Innovation (NEHI) : NEHI is dedicated to identifying innovations that improve the quality and lower the costs of health care. HIMSS is proud to have a leadership role in Health Care Without Walls , a NEHI project.  

Physicians’ Electronic Health Record Coalition (PEHRC) : The Physicians’ Electronic Health Record Coalition (PEHRC) is comprised of more than 20 medical societies representing more than 600,000 physicians, who share information to support the use of health information technology.  

Project Management Institute (PMI) : HIMSS has been reviewed and approved as a provider of project management training by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Participants may receive professional development units (PDUs) for attending the Global Conference & Exhibition, preconference and general education.  

Sequoia Project: HIMSS and the Sequoia Project collaborate around interoperability initiatives in support of a nationwide health information exchange.

Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) : The HIMSS-SIIM Enterprise Imaging Workgroup convenes stakeholders to identify approaches and solutions around effective point of connection for clinicians and IT professionals to engage in the advancement of enterprise imaging strategies.  

Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative (SHIEC) : HIMSS and SHIEC collaborate on multiple initiatives including the SHIEC/HIMSS Health Information Exchange Breakfast held in conjunction with the HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition.

Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) : HIMSS and WEDI to convene stakeholders to identify health information and technology approaches and solutions to improve quality of care, improve efficiency and to reduce costs.

Xcertia : Xcertia is a joint mHealth app collaborative effort pioneered by DHX Group, the American Medical Association, the American Heart Association, and HIMSS.

HIMSS Interoperability Call to Action Champions & Supporters: Engages organizations who support nationwide, ubiquitous, secure electronic exchange of health information.

National Health IT Week : A nationwide awareness week focused on the value of health information and technology. Partners unite under one banner to celebrate the impact and important promise of health information and technology.

Women in Health IT Roundtable : HIMSS is committed to advancing the careers of high-performing professionals and addressing the gender gap in health IT. The HIMSS Women in Health IT Roundtable partners with collaborating organizations to offer opportunities to engage, empower, and collaborate with women making a difference in health IT.  

HIMSS Approved Education Providers : A HIMSS Approved Education Partner (AEP) is a training provider that meets HIMSS’s rigorous standards for effective health information technology and healthcare education. Eligible non-profit organizations are invited to become a part of this exclusive group authorized to offer HIMSS-approved review courses and training programs.
