Interoperability Testing and Services To advance interoperability in healthcare, HIMSS, IHE USA and the EHR/HIE Interoperability Workgroup (IWG) launched ConCert by HIMSS™, aka ConCert, in April 2015. The founding organizations shared a common vision for robust, secure and interoperable health information exchange. ConCert was designed as a comprehensive certification for solutions that facilitated standards-based, secure and reliable data exchange. The program aimed to simplify, streamline and save time with a vendor-independent certification that could assure providers that products were interoperable. After conducting two in-depth program evaluations, including industry perspectives, business plan assessment, program financial performance and market interest, ConCert was sunset in the fall of 2019. HIMSS looks forward to continuing to partner with IHE USA and will continue to actively engage in interoperability initiatives such as IHE USA, Continua, the Interoperability & HIE Community, the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase™, and public policy efforts to advance a standards-based health ecosystem through new testing services and platforms. New education, training and professional certification on FHIR, APIs and health standards will be announced in spring of 2020.
