The scanning of your badge is your consent to having your registration Contact Information and other identifying information you provided to HIMSS shared with Conference producers, exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and within the HIMSS organization. Please be aware that exhibitor and sponsor scanning of attendee badges is optional, and you may refuse to have your badge scanned at booths as well as at the entrance to exhibitor sessions and functions without penalty. You recognise that sponsors can only invite you to participate in any exclusive sessions or functions, if they have your Contact information.

You have the choice to provide or withhold consent to the provision of your Contact information to exhibitors at the Conference. If you permit an exhibitor to scan the bar code on your Conference badge, you are providing opt-in consent to HIMSS to provide your Contact Information to the exhibitor (which HIMSS does in a secure fashion).  The bar code does not link to your ContactInformation.  This is why your consent is necessary to have HIMSS provide it. You can opt-out of having HIMSS provide your Contact Information to an exhibitor by declining to have the exhibitor scan your badge.

Sponsors hold events and business opportunities at the Conference to which they require HIMSS to provide Attendee  Contact Information. The sponsors may require that your badge be scanned by the sponsor in order to attend an event. You acknowledge that if you do not permit your badge to be scanned you may not be able to attend the event if the sponsor requires that badges be scanned to gain admittance.
