Shekar Ramanathan is the director of ambulatory systems at Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) where he is the leader responsible for software and technological solutions for the ambulatory, lab, enterprise imaging and connected health customers of the WFBH enterprise. He has a wealth of health information technology and EHR experience having worked at various healthcare organizations and EHR vendors, with a particular passion for improving the experience that patients have interacting with their healthcare providers through the use of technology.


He has a Bachelor in information systems from the University of Washington, attended graduate school at Oregon Health & Sciences University in medical informatics and healthcare management and received an MBA from the Ohio State University.  He is also a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems and holds multiple certifications in areas such as ITIL and various Epic applications.
