Impacting Pediatric Interventions Utilizing the EMR | Northern Ohio Chapter of HIMSS

This webinar will focus on interventions for pediatric patients that are drawn from the EMR. An injury prevention strategy will be discussed as well as pertinent information regarding the prevention of injuries in pediatric patients.

Heather Trnka (Trunk-a) attended Kent State University majoring in Community Health Education focusing on injury prevention and health promotion. She has worked in the health education field at various non-profits as well as the Wadsworth Fire and EMS department; serving as a Paramedic and Emergency Medical Services Instructor. Heather is completed her Master’s Degree in Strategic Leadership at the University of Charleston in December.

In 2014, Heather began her current position as Akron Children’s Hospital’s Injury Prevention Supervisor and Safe Kids Summit County Coalition Coordinator. In 2016, Heather became the Sate Director of Safe Kids Ohio.


Carrie Davis, MPH, CPST-I
Injury Prevention Specialist

Carrie Davis graduated in 2014 from The Ohio State University with a Masters of Public Health in epidemiology and has a background in research and data analysis. She held previous roles at the state health department in data analysis.

In 2017, Carrie became an injury prevention specialist at Akron Children’s Hospital. In this role she coordinates the hospital’s car seat distribution program and spearheads all unintentional injury data research and analysis.
