Vice President, Application Services in the Department of
Health Information Technology
Tom Barnett serves as Vice President, Application Services in the Department of Health Information Technology (HIT) at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore), which is a comprehensive, fully integrated, healthcare delivery system consisting of 4 hospitals, as well as the 80 medical group offices of the NorthShore Medical Group located throughout northern Chicagoland and serving the greater North Shore and Illinois communities.
Tom has corporate oversight of IT clinical and revenue cycle operations, data warehousing, and is leading NorthShore’s Digital Health and mobile initiatives. His duties also include the operations, management, strategic planning and program development within HIT for the NorthShore system. Tom joined NorthShore in 2013 following his 8 year tenure with Henry Ford Health System in Detroit where he served as Vice President of Information Technology. He earned both his Bachelor’s degree in management information systems and his MBA with a specialization in healthcare administration from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
