TIGER VLE Adoption Story: Mini-Byte Modules Directed at Informatics Competency Attainment in Nurse Educators

Aug 1, 2017 11:00am - 12:00pm CDT
TIGER Virtual Learning Environment

The TIGER Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) collaboration with Regis College focused on a scholarly project that provided nurse educators with mini-bytes or small chunks of informatics competency concepts and content in order to improve informatics competency attainment in nurse educators, and ultimately, in benefit of the students they teach. The education modules included content from the VLE in order to provide the most current, evidence-based content to the nurse educator participants. This project was conducted as part of the requirements of a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program. Hear how the TIGER VLE was integrated into this project along with real life examples applicable to the nursing community. Presented by Dr. Melinda Luther, DNP, RN, CNE, Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar, Associate Professor, Rivier University. Moderated by Toria Shaw, MSW, HIMSS TIGER Staff Liaison, Manager of Clinical Informatics.

Co-authors of the project include: Karen Crowley, DNP, APRN-BC, Associate Dean Graduate Nursing, Regis College, Denise Baxter, EdD, RN, CNE, Program Director, Graduate MS Nursing Education, Rivier University, Nancy Bittner, PhD, CNS, RN, Vice President for Education, Hallmark Health System.
