Thomas Lew
A/Prof Thomas Lew, Group Chief Data and Strategy Officer, National Healthcare Group

Dr Thomas Lew is Group Chief Data and Strategy Officer and Clinical Director of the Centre for Medical Technologies & Innovation (CMTi) at the National Healthcare Group (NHG), and a Clinical Associate Professor at the NUS and NTU Schools of Medicine.

His Office oversees the Clinical Informatics, Information Technology, Information Security and Data Protection missions at NHG and supports the strategic delivery of the overall health mission of NHG. CMTi provides a one-stop facilitation to develop and bring-to-market medtec innovations by NHG and its industry collaborators.

Prior to his present appointment, he was Chairman of the Medical Board at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and Central Health, and directed its clinical mission development & delivery from 2011-19. He is a specialist in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, former co-director of the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at the National Neuroscience Institute, and former head of the Department of Anaesthesiology at TTSH.

Currently, he serves in various MOH Committees on Health IT, Disease Management Programs, National ICU Registry, the National Health Innovation Centre (NHIC) Steering Committee, the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) CIDA Review Panel, and on the board of Integrated Health Information Services (iHIS). He graduated from NUS and has received post-graduate training at the University of Pittsburgh, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (Ohio), Nanyang Business School, and the Haas Business School at UCBerkeley.

Tim Kelsey is senior vice president of HIMSS Analytics International supporting the digital empowerment of health and wellbeing around the world. He is an internationally regarded expert in the digital transformation of health and care. He has designed and successfully implemented national digital health strategies in two countries – in Australia, as Chief Executive of the Australian Digital Health Agency (2016-20) and in England, as NHS National Director for Patients and Information (2012-15). He was also National Information Director for health and care in England and Chair of the National Information Board and, before that, the British government's first Executive Director of Transparency and Open Data.
