DRIVING THE FUTURE OF HEALTH WITH AI
We partnered with WebMD’s Medscape to survey clinicians, nurses, and executives at medical organizations about how they’re using AI, and why early adoption pays off. Read the full report below and learn how HIMSS is leading the conversation around AI in healthcare.

Artificial intelligence is transforming health and healthcare, empowering clinicians and organizations to improve clinical decision-making, patient engagement, data governance, and resource management. Despite its potential to enhance patient outcomes, reduce costs, alleviate workforce burnout, and strengthen interoperability, health professionals remain mindful of the risks and challenges associated with AI integration.
To better understand these dynamics, HIMSS partnered with WebMD’s Medscape to survey over 800 clinicians, nurses, IT professionals, and executive leaders at health systems.
The findings, highlighted in the Medscape & HIMSS AI Adoption by Health Systems Report 2024, reveal that 86% of respondents already leverage AI in their medical organizations, with 60% recognizing its ability to uncover health patterns and diagnoses beyond human detection. However, concerns persist, with 72% citing data privacy as a significant risk.
