As the physicians’ role is still being defined, there is a deficit of educational, guidance and training materials for emerging medical informaticists. The HIMSS Physician Community New to Medical Informatics Workgroup created a resource document to help guide physicians, new to clinical informatics, as they navigate through the medical informatics field.
The Physician Community will establish the New to Medical Informatics Workgroup to provide education, provide guidance, address current challenges, and develop tools to accommodate the changing environment that expands the informatics domain across all physician specialties.
Explore the different career pathways physicians have taken to be involved in medical informatics.
