What is a hybrid event?

HIMSS plans to deliver HIMSS21 in-person events in Las Vegas, complemented by extraordinary digital experiences. HIMSS is committed to navigating, with our members and community, the path to success and safety for all.

How is HIMSS addressing safety and health concerns for the August event?

As HIMSS prepares for HIMSS21, we will continue to monitor the coronavirus outbreak closely, and at a minimum, will follow CDC and WHO guidelines to develop a comprehensive on-site preparedness plan to address the safety and well-being of all attendees. We will provide details of the on-site preparedness plan to all attendees and members in the coming months.

More information will be available when registration opens.

What venue will host HIMSS21?

In a convenient campus-style venue, coordinated programming, exhibits and events will be held across the Venetian-Sands Expo Center, Caesars Forum Conference Center and Wynn in Las Vegas.
Caesars Forum Conference Center will be connected via a skybridge to the Venetian-Sands Expo Center for easy access from one building into the other. Round-robin shuttles will also be continuously available to transport attendees comfortably and efficiently from one location to another.

Will HIMSS22 also take place in August?

No. At this time, we expect that the 2022 HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition will return to the usual schedule, taking place in March 2022 in Orlando.

When is the Call for Proposals?


When will I be able to register for HIMSS21?

Registration will open in early March.

Note: Qualified paid professional HIMSS20 registrants will receive an email with a specific transfer link to activate their HIMSS21 registration. You will not be able to register through this website.

What type of registration options will be available?

HIMSS plans to deliver HIMSS21 in-person events in Las Vegas, complemented by extraordinary digital experiences. More information will be released soon.

I need a letter in order to obtain a visa. Whom do I contact?

You may request a visa during the online registration process. You will be prompted to add visa information after your enter your country.  

onPeak is the official HIMSS housing bureau. All reservations should be made directly through onPeak.

What do I need to do to qualify for the student rate?

You must submit proof of enrollment during the online registration process. Student ID alone is not acceptable. Accepted documentation includes:

  • Copy of registrant's current class schedule
  • Copy of university transcript
  • Other enrollment documentation from the institution on university letterhead, signed by department chair or other school official

Individuals requesting the student rate may not hold a full-time equivalent position in the field of healthcare information and management systems. Individuals must also be formally enrolled in, but not limited to, a certificate, associate, undergraduate, graduate, postdoc, fellowship or residency program in the field of healthcare information and management systems.

All student attendees will have badges that display “Student.” 

Can I bring a spouse or other guest to the program?

Yes. However, spouses and other guests must be at least 21 years old and must register for the full conference, daily registration or optional events in order to attend any function.

Is there a special guest category for spouses in advance or on-site?

No. Spouses and other guests have to register as full conference, daily registrants or exhibit hall.

Is there an age limit at the conference or related events?

Yes. All registrants, including spouses or guests, must be 21 years of age or older to attend any portion of the conference and events.


When will I be able to book a hotel for HIMSS21?

Hotel reservations for attendees are now open through our official housing partner, onPeak. Book now.

Great news: HIMSS has moved to a new deposit policy of only one night’s room plus tax.

Should you need to make any changes to your form of payment, you must do so prior to 4:00 pm CST on Monday, July 12, 2021. As of 4:01 pm CST on Monday, July 12, 2021, all changes will be subject to the non-refundable one night room plus tax deposit, and your method of payment on file will be charged approximately 7-10 days later.

Do I have to be registered for the conference before I can book my hotel in the HIMSS block?

No. Hotels can be booked at the HIMSS rate before registering for the conference. We encourage booking in advance as hotel rooms fill up fast. View your hotel options.

Certification and Continuing Education Credits

What types of continuing education credits do you provide?

We offer continuing education credits for attendees to maintain over 12 different professional certifications, including CME, CNE, PDUs, CPHIMS™ and CAHIMS certifications.

How many CME credits are provided and for what courses?
