Cybersecurity Forum: Establishing Effective Cybersecurity Governance in Healthcare

Monday, April 17 at 9:15 AM - 10:00 AM CT
South Building, Level 1 | S102

The healthcare environment poses significant operational complexities for cybersecurity professionals because the impact of failure can be catastrophic. And many traditional cyber risk mitigation techniques used to protect the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of healthcare operations have unanticipated consequences, especially if implemented without consultation from Clinical and Informatics leaders. Lack of an effective governance structure that combines both optics causes knowledge gaps, negatively impacting patient care and increasing the risk of cyber attacks. This panel offers a firsthand account of how Kaiser Permanente built and refined a multilayered joint security governance structure that fosters important conversations to simultaneously reduce security vulnerability while also enabling patient care and business operations.

This session is part of the Healthcare Cybersecurity Forum agenda and requires separate registration.
