Does Size Matter? Let’s Talk Note Bloat and Patient Safety
Wednesday, April 19 at 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM CT

Size does matter, and bigger is definitely not better. United States clinicians write notes that are much longer than our international colleagues’ notes. There are a few common, well-intended explanations for this. But there are very real safety risks associated with note bloat. EMRAM Stage 7 validation is largely about patient safety, as well as supporting clinicians and improving patient satisfaction. Helping clinicians write shorter, more clinically relevant notes works towards achieving all 3 of those goals.
