European Leaders' Exchange: EHDS at the center stage

In May 2022 the Commission published proposal for a regulation on the European Health Data Space. It aims at giving control to the European citizens to their health data & supports free movement by ensuring that health data follow the people throughout their care, including cross borders purposes. The other equally important element of the EHDS is to facilitate the uptake of the re use of health data (secondary use of health data) for research, innovation and public policy purposes while ensuring compliance with the EU data protection standards. While discussions on EHDS and on the European governance framework for data are being held at the European Parliament and at the Council, there is an outstanding question: are countries ready? The implementation of EHDS will be crucial and there are different factors that stakeholders should be looking at. This session is the perfect forum to share where different European countries are & learn from each other's experiences and challenges.
