Technical experiences in deploying a large-scale EHR

Tuesday, April 18 at 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM CT
South Building, Level 1 | S102

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO) leaders will provide their lessons learned, talk about how they have overcome challenges, and describe the changes made to ensure successful deployments. The VA is the largest healthcare organization in the United States and is modernizing its electronic health record (EHR) practices and systems. The system is being deployed in close coordination with the Department of Defense (DoD) to enable seamless healthcare to Service Members as they transition into civilian life as Veterans. This large-scale modernization and the relationship with DoD and other federal agencies present opportunities for learning and can identify challenges to overcome.
