Amanda Cournoyer is the Director of Data and Interoperability in the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM IO). In this role, Ms. Cournoyer is responsible for VA EHRM-IO’s strategic planning, coordination, and execution of technical solutions across the EHR eco-system to ensure and enhance interoperability for intra-agency, interagency and external partners integrated HealthIT platform capabilities for secure exchange, access and use of accessible electronic health information, as authorized under applicable State and Federal laws, at the point of care in a consumable way enabling clinical and administrative populations the ability to deliver and receive prompt, effective, safe healthcare and benefits to our Veterans, Servicemembers and their dependents. As United Stated Navy Veteran and career Department of Veterans Affairs employee with over 19 years exemplary federal service, she is a constant and strong advocate for Veterans, service members and their families. She has always pressed to modernize, improve, and streamline organizational change initiatives, as witness through her leadership to enhance interoperability capabilities to include VA’s Veterans Benefit Management System, Joint Longitudinal Viewer, Joint Health Information Exchange, and Electronic Health Record Modernization platforms. Ms. Cournoyer holds a Master’s Degree in Military Art and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Systems Management from Eastern Connecticut State University, and an Associate of Science (AS) in Marketing/Public Relations from Three Rivers Community College.
