Anna Schoenbaum, DNP, MS, RN-BC, FHIMSS, CPHIMSS is the Vice President of Applications and Digital Health at Penn Medicine (University of Pennsylvania Health System). Anna oversees a broad suite of applications and digital solutions to transform the health ecosystem to improve health and achieve health equity. Dr. Schoenbaum has 30+ years in the healthcare industry. This experience includes clinical roles as a nurse in a variety of patient care settings and management roles in both nursing and information technology. Her current efforts are primarily focused on providing the strategic direction in the EHR system and further developing digital healthcare. Dr. Schoenbaum earned a Doctorate in Nurse Practice and Master of Science in Informatics at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Schoenbaum is board certified in informatics and is a fellow member of Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Currently, she serves on the Maryland HIMSS Board of Directors. She also teaches at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and sits on the Nursing Informatics Advisory Board. She is also an active member of the HIMSS Innovation Committee, and has served on the HIMSS Social Determinants of Health Taskforce, HIMSS NI Committee, healthIT governing councils and workgroups.
