William (Bill) Wilson is the VP & Chief Technology Officer at Stanford Children’s Health overseeing the infrastructure leadership team and the critical services they provide. As a respected global healthcare executive, Bill's key focus areas on senior leadership teams have included improving user satisfaction scores, aligning the IT strategic plan with the organization's business objectives, rationalizing the budgeting process for both operating and capital budgets, and addressing clinical initiatives supporting patient safety and outcomes. Bill has served as the VP and CIO at The START Center for Cancer Care, Iowa Health System (UnityPoint Health), Exempla Healthcare, Shannon Health System, Grady Health System, Brackenridge Hospital and Children's Hospital of Austin, and Deaconess Hospital. During his tenure at IBM, Bill led the Healthcare Strategy and Advisory consulting practice and served as the Healthcare Executive for the western region of the United States. He recently received Fellow status at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and earned the Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO) designation. He is a member of CHIME, has been an active member of HIMSS serving on the Professional Development Committee along with volunteering as an annual conference education session reviewer, mentor, and facilitator for many years. He has been involved in many state and regional healthcare initiatives across the United States. Bill earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
