Carrie Huffman joined the IU Health system in May of 2007 where she started her nursing career. Over the next 7 years, she would gain experience as a direct care nurse, Associate Administrator, and Clinical Operation Manager of an 18-bed progressive care unit for IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. In 2015, Carrie transitioned to a performance improvement role assisting ambulatory clinics. Over the next 3 years, she would develop as a leader and earn the opportunity to become a Practice Operations Director for Primary Care clinics in the East Central Region. In four years, we proudly doubled our primary care footprint, expanded virtual services, and excelled in patient experience. In fall 2022, she decided to make a shift to a role that combined two of her passions: nursing and project management. As the Project Manager for Nursing Innovation, Carrie supports direct care nurses through model of care re-design to shape the future of nursing!
