Ellen Pollack has worked at UCLA Health for the past 28 years and developed the Nursing Informatics program over 22 years ago. Ellen served as the deployment director for UCLA’s electronic health record program which went live in 2013. Ellen served as the chief nursing informatics officer for eight years prior to becoming the chief information officer. As the CIO, she has responsibility for the IT functions serving the 4 hospitals, 250+ clinics, research, education and the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing. The information technology organization has 1000 employees and supports UCLA Health’s missions of delivering leading-edge patient care, research, education, and servicing the Los Angeles community.
