Dr. Elliot Sloane is an elected Fellow of HIMSS, the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, and the American College of Clinical Engineering. He has chaired, co-chaired and participated in many US and Global HIMSS committees, programs, and task forces, including Advocacy, Annual Programs, Certification, Health Information and Exchange, Interoperability, HIE, mHealth, Security and Privacy, Policy and Regulation, and others. He is the Emeritus Co-Chair of Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise, co-founder of the IHE Patient Devices Domain, and serves as a HIMSS representative for the IHE USA Board of Directors. He has also been an active HIMSS DelVal and HIMSS CNFL chapter board member and committee chair and is a trained and certified trainer for all three of HIMSS's professional certification programs. As a health informatics professor at Villanova, Sloane conducts both education and research in telemedicine, AI, mHealth, cybersecurity, and related topics.
