Jeffrey Thomas is an IT disruptor and executive with 20+ years of experience leading global IT organizations across healthcare, commercial, governmental, consulting, and higher education. Specializing in digital and cloud transformation and consolidation, he has spoken about and led the multifaceted conversion and merging of disparate IT operations for multiple organizations while reducing operating costs and improving services while transitioning to a digital cloud platform. He is a board member for the recently launched Optafi, a JV cloud company built for healthcare by healthcare. Before joining Sentara Healthcare, Mr. Thomas was the Chief Technology Officer of Smithfield Foods. He also worked as a Division Information Officer, Assistant Director, and Chief Enterprise Architect for the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr. Thomas earned an executive MBA from the Mason School of Business at William and Mary. While employed by Syracuse University, he earned a Master of Information Resource Management degree. His undergraduate degree is from Brigham Young University.
