Medical Director of Interoperability
Dr. Kristian Feterik has been a staff hospitalist and core teaching faculty at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as since 2008. He completed medical school training in Slovakia followed by internal medicine residency at Case Western Reserve University’s St Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. After residency, Dr. Feterik joined the Cleveland Clinic as a primary care physician where he also supported EHR optimization for a multispecialty practice. He earned a Business Administration Masters from University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management in 2011. Dr. Feterik is board certified in Internal Medicine with Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine, and also in Clinical Informatics.    At UPMC, Dr. Feterik serves as Medical Director for Interoperability and oversees health information exchange and data integration in the health system ambulatory and inpatient electronic health records. He also supports promoting interoperability programs and implementation of direct secure messaging. He is a physician advisor for Clinical Connect HIE, Western Pennsylvania’s health information exchange, and UPMC Enterprises, an entrepreneurial health care innovation ecosystem. Nationally, Dr. Feterik is a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association, a Senior Fellow of Society of Hospital Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
