Booz Allen Hamilton
Michael Gilbert is a public health technologist with specializations in epidemiology, health informatics, product development, and harm reduction. He joined Booz Allen Hamilton in 2016 via the acquisition of Epidemico, where he supported development of novel technologies for social media analysis and regulatory science. Since joining Booz Allen Hamilton, Michael has led development of consumer facing decision support tools for potential poison exposures, experimental methods for generation and analysis of pharmacovigilance data, and methods for analysis of context and correlates of adverse events among people using medications for analgesia and opioid use disorder treatment. His past work includes design and implementation of public health informatics tools, research on successes and challenges in community-based distribution of naloxone, and development of technologies to support the health and wellbeing of people who use drugs. His current work focuses on the analysis of public and private sector interventions on drug markets, the design of tools to explore knowledge, attitudes and practices related to drug use, and direct service with local harm reduction programs.
