HIMSS Co-Signs Letter Urging the House to Pass Provisions of the CHRONIC Care Act

On Monday, October 31st, HIMSS joined 81 organizations in sending a letter to the leadership of the House of Representatives urging them to pass the CHRONIC Care Act of 2017 (S. 870). The CHRONIC Care Act seeks to modernize the Medicare program to improve the management of chronic disease, streamline care coordination, and improve quality outcomes.

The CHRONIC Care Act, which was developed by the bipartisan Senate Finance Committee Chronic Care Working Group in the 114th Congress and reintroduced in April, passed the Senate by unanimous consent on September 26th.  HIMSS provided input to the working group on several occasions over the course of the bill’s development, and efforts are now focused on ensuring key telehealth provisions are passed in the House and signed into law.
