Is there limit to the total number of individual memberships my organization can have as an Organizational Affiliate? No, as an Organizational Affiliate, your organization can have an unlimited number of Individual Memberships. Anyone from your organization can join, including your IT staff, IT stakeholders or project owners, and anyone who has an interest in health IT, including your key medical staff members involved in clinical informatics leadership roles. Academic OAs get unlimited free student memberships. How will this program impact the current HIMSS members in my organization? As an Organizational Affiliate, your current HIMSS members will be converted to an organizational individual membership. This is a seamless transition and does not impact a member’s benefits or personal information. I’m a current member with several months left on my HIMSS membership. What happens to the remaining months on my membership by becoming an Organizational Affiliate? HIMSS will credit the unused portion of all remaining individual memberships against the fee for the Organizational Affiliate program. I’m also a CHIME member. Will I be able to continue my dual HIMSS-CHIME membership as an Organizational Affiliate? Yes, once you become an Organizational Affiliate, CHIME will no longer invoice you for HIMSS membership. If you pay CHIME for your HIMSS renewal by mistake, HIMSS can process a refund for you. As an Organizational Affiliate, do I receive a chapter membership? Organizational Affiliates receive a 10% discount on the CAHIMS exam fee and 20% discount on the CAHIMS exam fee. Your staff must register for the exam with their work email address to get the discount. How can I become an Organizational Affiliate?
