HIMSS and Data Security Council of India Sign Memorandum of Understanding for Workforce Development and Cybersecurity Analysis

HIMSS has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Data Security Council of India to collaborate on workforce development and conduct a national-level market analysis of cybersecurity in India.

HIMSS will collaborate with DSCI to create and publish a cybersecurity report and market analysis of India’s cybersecurity posture. Together, the organizations will develop the scope of work, identify key stakeholders, and garner participation from representative hospitals. The cybersecurity report will become a valuable advocacy tool for advancing and investing in India's cybersecurity.

HIMSS Vice President and Managing Director of APAC Simon Lin and Data Security Council of India CEO Vinayak Godse signed the agreement on 24 April at the HIMSS APAC office in Singapore.

"At HIMSS, we are committed to driving innovation and transformation in healthcare through the power of information and technology. This collaboration with the Data Security Council of India represents a significant step towards enhancing cybersecurity resilience in India’s healthcare sector,” said Simon Lin, Managing Director of HIMSS APAC. “Together with DSCI, we will empower health systems across India to adopt emerging technologies responsibly while ensuring patients' highest standards of privacy and security.”

Vinayak Godse, CEO of DSCI, said on the occasion of the MoU signing, “As an industry body on data protection, we feel that there is an urgent and vital need to strengthen the global health ecosystems to make them ready for the future possibilities of cyberattacks. The partnership between DSCI and HIMSS will be instrumental in furthering the agenda of safe, secured, and resilient healthcare systems. We look forward to delivering credible outcomes via this collaboration.”

To mutually advance India’s workforce development and build care delivery capacity, both HIMSS and DSCI will share access and speaking opportunities for their executive events. DSCI members will benefit from HIMSS workforce development events and resources such as professional seminars, masterclasses, and educational courses.

The organizations will also work together to create a conducive policy environment to support the digitization of the healthcare industry by actively engaging in government and regulatory policy initiatives. Learn more about how HIMSS is driving global digital health transformation.
