Executive Order Extended for Economic Sanctions for Malicious Cyber-Attacks

President Trump has extended for one year economic sanctions that were put into place for malicious cyber-attacks by the Obama Administration’s Executive Order 13694 . These sanctions were set to automatically expire on April 1, 2017.  Additional information is available on the HIMSS blog


On a related note, the National Cyber Incident Response Plan is in force as a national plan to deal with cybersecurity incidents.  While this Plan is voluntary for the private sector, private sector constituents are encouraged to report significant cybersecurity incidents to the US government.
