This session will describe the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS’) mission with respect to private sector cybersecurity and explain the purpose and role of the Healthcare Industry Cybersecurity Task Force.  Moreover, attendees will be able to locate information sources to assist healthcare organizations in enhancing the security and resilience of their information systems.

This session will demonstrate how collaborative efforts between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC), and close partnerships with the healthcare and health information technology sectors, were instrumental in the development and deployment of critical clinical decision support tools to address the emerging public health threat of Zika virus. The session will also discuss how this collaboration established repeatable processes to support the current response and future crises and how vendors and local sites can use the content.
