HIMSS Announces 2013 Award and Scholarship Recipients

CHICAGO (January 20, 2014) – Recognizing outstanding contributions to HIMSS and the healthcare industry, HIMSS named its 2013 award and scholarship recipients. The HIMSS Foundation and five HIMSS chapters provided nine scholarships to students enrolled in health IT and management systems degree programs. 

“The HIMSS award recipients are individuals and organizations that have contributed to HIMSS mission of leading healthcare transformation through the effective use of health IT. Congratulations to all of the award and scholarship recipients for their achievement and for the use of their skills to improve the quality of care through the use of health IT,” said JoAnn Klinedinst, CPHIMS, FHIMSS, PMP, vice president, professional development, HIMSS.

Award winners are nominated in four award categories:  industry service, HIMSS service, publications and chapters. All award and scholarship recipients will be honored at the HIMSS Awards Banquet on Feb. 25, from 6:30 – 9 p.m. at Rosen Shingle Creek, Panzacola Ballroom, 9939 Universal Blvd, Orlando, Fla., during the 2014 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition.
