House Energy and Commerce Committee Focuses on Cybersecurity

Upon returning to Washington next week, two subcommittees of the House Energy and Commerce Committee will hold a joint hearing on security of internet-connected devices. These hearings following a letter sent in early November by Reps. Diana DeGette (D-CO) and Susan Brooks (R-IN) to FDA Commissioner Robert Califf seeking additional information on the security vulnerabilities of medical devices.

HIMSS’ Congressional Affairs team and subject matter experts continue to engage with Members of Congress and their staff on the importance of ensuring the health sector has the tools, resources and leadership needed to better identify and combat growing cyber threats.  For more information on HIMSS Cybersecurity priorities, view our “Call to Action.”
