Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs Bill Introduced

US Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), with Senators Manchin (D-WV) and King (I-ME) introduced the Prescription Drug Monitoring Act, a bill that "would require states to have prescription drug monitoring programs that use best practices, curbing the kind of doctor shopping that facilitates addiction." The bill also requires the data to be available across state lines with an inter-state data-sharing platform. All states that receive certain federal funding to combat opioid abuse would be included. This is part of Senator Klobuchar's long led efforts to curb drug abuse. Learn more here.
