Christel Anderson, MA, is vice president of strategy and program operations for HIMSS, a global advisor and thought leader supporting the transformation of the health ecosystem through information and technology. In this role, Anderson drives the organization forward, guiding the executive leadership team, the strategic roadmap and overall enterprise performance to achieve the HIMSS vision and mission. She focuses on translating organizational strategy into functional execution.
Anderson has served HIMSS as an informatics subject matter expert for the past 15 years, publishing and lecturing on the awareness and impact of clinical informatics as the integration of science, data, wisdom and knowledge. She has led the development and execution of global research projects, peer-reviewed publications, trailblazing communities, standards awareness, technology adoption, policy engagement, clinician workforce development and a pursuit to drive transformational change to better the health of all populations.
She holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Illinois. In her free time, Anderson is a devoted member of the Book of the Month club and enjoys riding her bicycle and taking family adventures with her husband and their daughter.
