Berlin, Germany, - (10 December 2019)
Healthcare Information Management System and Society is announcing the FUTURE50 International 2019, Middle East Cohort. The FUTURE50 2019 Middle East community consists of 16 top leaders in five categories, Government, Healthcare IT, Clinical, Patient and Innovation from the digital health ecosystem across three different countries in the Middle East. Earlier in October, HIMSS announced FUTURE50 International's European and Asia Pacific cohort, consisting of 25 and 12 leaders, respectively.
The HIMSS FUTURE50 is an international initiative aimed at identifying and bringing together the top 50 Healthcare Information and Technology leaders in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific. This global community will work alongside HIMSS and its partners to overcome current and future systemic health challenges by addressing gaps and needs at the local and regional levels. The five categories of the Community include;
Government Leader: Government officials and public servants who have made a significant contribution to the development and implementation of healthcare policy that has helped deliver results and steer change using information and technology within the public health sector.
Healthcare IT Leader: CEOs and IT directors who were able to identify and adopt the right digital strategy, and enablers to drive transformational change, leading to better and improved health outcomes for patients.
Clinical Leader: Clinicians, who have made exceptional contributions in the clinical practice, supported by information and technology tools, which have led to improvements in care delivery and positive outcomes for the patient.
Patient Leader: The Champions who brought the patient voice to the forefront in enabling a patient-centered delivery of care and co-creation with the clinical, innovation and policy space.
Innovation Leader: The people who have developed innovative solutions by harnessing emerging, disruptive and cutting-edge technology to address healthcare pain points.
"In this second edition of the FUTURE50 community, HIMSS is excited to extend the collaboration to be truly international by including both APAC and the Middle East; opening up the dialogue and shaping health and care through real change globally." Says Sean Roberts, Vice President of HIMSS EMEA. “The rapidly evolving healthcare sector demands new skillsets for the workforce as never before. Therefore, promoting the empowerment and growth of future digital workers is essential for everyone in healthcare, including patients, and these FUTURE 50 leaders are influencing digital health in the Middle East and globally by developing strategies and communicating best practices for others to learn.”
