Coast Guard Joining DoD MHS GENESIS Contract

On Monday, April 9, the Coast Guard announced that it will adopt the Department of Defense’s (DoD’s) MHS GENESIS electronic health record (EHR) system by joining the DoD’s existing $4.3 billion contract with Leidos and Cerner.  .

During the announcement, the Coast Guard noted that it plans to integrate its implementation into DoD’s existing deployment schedule.  It will start implementation with a pilot at one of its West Coast bases but will first have to ensure that its hardware and network infrastructure are sufficient to handle the Cerner system.
