2020: What a Year for Nurses and Midwives! Kate Granger Awards

2020 has undeniably pushed nurses and midwives into the spotlight! They have risen to an unprecedented challenge, shone above and beyond, and truly elevated the visibility of both professions on a global level. Their impact on citizens health, patient engagement, care outcomes and population health has never been more visible than during this pandemic. This keynote will feature global nursing and midwifery experts who will discuss the importance of encouraging nurse leadership, including nurses and midwives in co-design, innovation, and technology implementations, and securing a strong voice for them in key decision-making processes across health systems. This session will close with the European Kate Granger Awards 2020, showcasing outstanding examples of compassionate care from our nursing and midwifery communities across Europe.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the global nursing and midwifery initaitves and focus for the year 2020 and beyond.
  • Recognise how nurses and midwives can take a more prominent role in decision making within healthcare systems.
  • Examine the essential role of nurses and midwives in pandemic response and acheiving health for all.
