Today’s digitally-savvy generation of children and adolescents perceive and interact with the world through the lens of the small screen. This session will explore how designers are incorporating gamification, artificial intelligence and augmented reality into new technologies aimed at delivering targeted health education to children, reducing anxiety over visiting hospital, and improving adherence to potentially life-saving treatments. Our lively panel of digital entrepreneurs will share their experience of creating new technologies that have a real, measurable impact on the health outcomes for young people in areas such as cancer and obesity. They will offer advice on identifying the problem you intend your new technology to solve, co-designing apps and games with parents and children, play testing, clinically validated research and getting your new technology to the market.
