Every day, 115 Americans die from an opioid-related drug overdose. To encourage awareness about the public health epidemic, HIMSS is hosting a series of webinars on leveraging health information and technology to mitigate the opioid crisis at the federal and state levels.
HIMSS strongly advocated for the inclusion of $50 million in new funding, and looks forward to continuing the work with our campaign partners and the CDC to modernize the public health surveillance enterprise through upgrading IT systems and recruiting and retaining skilled data scientists.
