Everything INTEROPERABILITY Simplifying Digital Health Data Exchange HIMSS, IHE USA and the EHR/HIE Interoperability Workgroup announce a plan to streamline and strengthen how electronic health records (EHRs) and health information exchanges (HIEs) share patient data. C-CDA Review A detailed review of the Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) prepared by the HIMSS Interoperability & Standards Practices Task Force. Innovation Matters at IHE North American Connectathon 2015 Focused on the secure and seamless exchange of patient health data across information technology systems , more than 100 health IT organizations will gather in Cleveland, Ohio on Jan. 26-30, 2015 at the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) North American (NA) Connectathon 2015 to test the interoperability of their systems. In Case You Missed It… IHE USA President, Joyce Sensmeier, provided comments to the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) as part of the public record for the upcoming Joint HIT Policy and Standards Committee meeting. HIE Highway Hot Off the Press The 2014 HL7 Interface Technology Survey Results provide a current view of the HL7 interface market within healthcare. Public Health HIE Toolkit This Toolkit seeks to help public health departments understand HIE services and the types of organizations providing them; how a health department might use or support such services; and to assess if the value of participating in HIE will be worthwhile. Guide to Evaluating Health Information Exchange Projects This guide describes what is needed to evaluate an HIE project and develop a realistic evaluation plan.
