CMS Creates New ‘Chief Data Officer’ Position
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced the creation of the Office of Enterprise Data and Analytics (OEDA). Niall Brennan, formerly Acting Director of CMS’ Offices of Enterprise Management, will become the first Chief Data Officer and will run the newly created office.

CMS Extends EHR Attestation Deadline to Dec. 31
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is extending the deadline for eligible hospitals and critical-access hospitals to attest to Meaningful Use for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program 2014 reporting year to Dec. 31.
