New Qualifying Events for CEs for CPHIMS & CAHIMS Programs!
 

HIMSS has added and approved two new events to their CE offerings. As part of the requirements of maintaining your certification through HIMSS you’re required to submit CE hours to renew your credentials. In order to provide as many opportunities throughout the year HIMSS has approved both the Healthcare Security Forum and Big Data & Healthcare Analytics Forums. Both events, happening this fall, will cover an extensive amount of information on their subjects and will provide you with the opportunity to update your knowledge within the field.

Every day, 115 Americans die from an opioid-related drug overdose. To encourage awareness about the public health epidemic, HIMSS is hosting a series of webinars on leveraging health information and technology to mitigate the opioid crisis at the federal and state levels. Presenters will share model practices at the federal and state levels on state HIE collaborations as well as how to advance Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs), all in efforts to address the opioid crisis. The HIMSS Interoperability Showcase will be traveling to the PHI Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on August 20-23, 2018. Live demonstrations will highlight how electronic standards‐based health information exchange (HIE) brings critical knowledge to the right people at the right time. This collaboration with NACCHO and the CDC will demonstrate how seamless health information exchange in public health can contribute to improve outcomes, engage consumers, and support regulations.
