MACRA and the Quality Payment Program
A HIMSS webinar series on Nov. 3 - 4 discusses the release of the final rule on the Quality Payment Program as part of the regulatory requirements for the Medicare and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA), which moves healthcare systems from volume to value-based care. Join this two-day webinar series as HIMSS experts provide guidance on what healthcare systems can expect during the shift to Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Advanced Alternative Payment Models (Advanced APMs). HIMSS North America Nominating Committee Elections Open Oct. 14
Elections for the HIMSS North America Nominating Committee will open on Oct. 14, and will close on Nov. 14. The HIMSS North America Nominating Committee has created a slate of six qualified candidates. The membership will elect three of those candidates to the Nominating Committee. Each HIMSS member may cast one vote each for up to three different candidates for the Nominating Committee. Bios on each of the six Nominating Committee candidates are available on the ballot website.

Share Your HIE Organization's Story: Participate in a HIMSS HIE Case Study
The HIMSS FY17 HIE Case Studies Task Force is looking for representatives from Health Information Exchange Organizations interested in being interviewed for HIE-focused Case Studies this fiscal year. This is an opportunity to showcase your HIE Organization's successes and lessons learned with the greater Interoperability and Health Information Exchange Community. To volunteer to be interviewed for an HIE Case Study, please complete the short survey by Friday, Nov. 4.

YourTurn at HIMSS17
YourTurn at HIMSS17 is a chance for you to lead the discussion! Is there a topic that you are passionate about, that you think others at HIMSS17 need to know about? These sessions will give you the chance to facilitate an open discussion session with your peers. The top proposals selected by a HIMSS team of reviewers will be posted on the HIMSS17 website and attendees will be asked to vote on the session they would like to attend at HIMSS17. The call for topics will be open Oct. 10 - 31 and can be found on the HIMSS17 website

The HIMSS Innovation Center Medical Hackathon
The HIMSS Innovation Center hosted the second annual Cleveland Medical Hackathon on Oct. 23-22 in Cleveland, Ohio. Over 200 individuals - students, clinicians, developers, designers, investors and programmers - convened for more than 36 hours to identify and propose solutions for security issues that pose as threats in the field of healthcare.
