Using Health Information Exchange to Enhance Care for Children in Rural Communities
Last September, ONC awarded 10 grants through the Community Interoperability and Health Information Exchange Cooperative Agreement Program. Georgia’s CHIC, a pilot project from the Georgia Partnership for Telehealth (GPT) and Georgia Health Information Network (GaHIN), aims to expand the use of health information exchange (HIE) and telehealth services to school nurses and individuals in the rural counties of Appling and Atkinson in Georgia.
Global Consortium Receives Grant to Improve Healthcare Workforce IT Skills
With burgeoning global demand for skilled healthcare workers, the HIMSS Foundation joins other members of the EU*US eHealth Work Consortium to address the need, development and deployment of workforce IT skills, competencies and training programs. This new 18-month project, spanning from September 2016 to February 2018, is being funded from the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation grant program, which awarded just under $600,000 dollars to the EU*US eHealth Work Consortium. Under this grant scope of work, the TIGER (Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform) Initiative will execute project deliverables on behalf of the Foundation. Read More.
