Is It Time for Healthcare to "Cut the Cord" on Keyboards?
Smart, hands-free, mobile, voice solutions have arrived in the healthcare industry and progressive CIOs are taking the power of voice to the front lines of patient care. Surveys show that greater than 97 percent of patient-facing clinicians, nurses and doctors want to step away from the keyboard and leverage intelligent voice solutions to capture patient data in real time, at the point of care. Is your IT team ready to respond to the call for voice? Here are five healthcare metrics that may help you decide.

Voice Enable Your Clinical Workflows & EMR
For the first time ever, clinicians can have “a conversation with their EMR” while being completely mobile and free to focus first on patient care. Read how voice overlay on EMRs from VoiceFirst boosts clinical workflow efficiency, clinician morale, and patient satisfaction.

EMR Voice Overlay Technology vs. Dictation : Understanding the Difference
For decades when the healthcare industry thought of speech recognition, it meant only one thing—dictation. Now voice and speech recognition technologies are taking a more active role on the front lines of patient care to boost clinician efficiency and patient satisfaction.

The Time to Replace Your Legacy EMR Solution Is Now
Thousands of practices around the country are considering replacing a legacy EMR, however key questions are holding them up.

  • Is EMR replacement too expensive?
  • Will replacing my EMR disrupt my practice?
  • How do I pick the right solution?

Find answers to these questions and more today by downloading “Regret-free EMR replacement,” a brand new white paper on EMR replacement.

Calling All Members

Calling all Concierge, Direct Pay, & Retainer-Based Medical Practices
HIMSS is collaborating on an academic study on "concierge" medical practices (e.g., boutique medicine, retainer medicine, direct primary care, other types of fee for care preventative medicine). Please take a moment to complete and help us promote this survey at the link above. Eligible participants include physicians that either own or partially own the direct pay private practices; office managers with 1+ years of experience at the practice (in lieu of the physician); any one physician/office manager at a practice that is affiliated with a hospital or hospital wing. (e.g., Inova 360 is the concierge medical practice wing of the hospital that participated in the survey); or physicians of practices of hospitals that are part of a network, coalition, or franchise of retainer medicine. (e.g., MDVIP and MedLion represent franchises, and Qliance and AAPP represent coalitions that provide the retainer medicine business model). All responses will be anonymous and de-identified. Participants will receive an incentive (Amazon gift card or a donation to the charity of your choice) in exchange for their time and willingness to participate via e-mail. Research is being conducted by Divya Srinivasan, PhD, Public Policy Student, George Mason University. Please contact Srinivasan directly by e-mail (dsriniv2@masonlive.gmu.edu) if you prefer to answer questions through a phone or in-person interview or have any other questions.
