Celebrating National Health IT Week
This week marks the ten-year anniversary of National Health IT Week, a nation-wide, partner-driven awareness week focusing on the value of Health IT. HIMSS is proud to join over 400 Partners to demonstrate our support for a better U.S. healthcare system through information technology. Over 35 Partner events are being held this week across the US; view all NHIT Week Activities. There is still time to show your support of Health IT.

Make a Difference – Cast Your Vote in the HIMSS Election
The opening day of the upcoming election for HIMSS North America - Oct. 15 - is just a week away. HIMSS members will vote on the proposed bylaws changes and for members of the Nominating Committee. You will receive an email invitation with the link to the ballot.  If you have questions about using the voting website, please do not hesitate to contact user support by phone at 952-974-2300 or by e-mail at himss@directvote.net. It is easy to find more information on the proposed bylaws revisions. Visit the HIMSS website to access the bylaws, FAQ, proposed changes and for other background materials. The elections open on Oct. 15 and close on Nov. 15; take the time now to review the materials and be ready to cast your vote.

Peyton Manning Slated as Closing Speaker at HIMSS16 in Las Vegas
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, the NFL’s only five-time Most Valuable Player and a 14-time Pro Bowl selection, will be the closing keynote speaker at HIMSS16. He takes to the podium at 1 p.m. PDT, on Friday, March 4. The HIMSS Conference & Exhibition ranked as the largest medical conference in North America during the first half of 2015 (Trade Show Executive, September 2015).

Interactive Step-by-Step Guide Assists Transitions to ICD-10
The HIMSS ICD-10 Task Force has developed ICD-10 Step-by-Step, an interactive guide to assist health care providers who have not yet completed the transition to the ICD-10 code set for submitting claims to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other payers. Incorporated into the HIMSS ICD-10 Playbook, the step-by-step guide assists providers that don't have ICD-10 in place, or who have ICD-10 in place but are still having difficulty receiving reimbursements.
