HIMSS Podcast STEPS to Value: The Value of People versus Patients: Understanding Long-Term, Post-Acute Care (LTPAC)
The second season's opening episode looks at the health IT landscape in the long-term, post-acute care (LTPAC) marketplace. It explores the considerations needed when integrating care between acute care providers, who often measure patient interactions in minutes, and LTPAC providers, who often measure patient interactions in years. HIMSS Champions Health IT During the Republican National Convention
As part of HIMSS's role as convener and educator, the Society co-hosted two discussions,"Game Changing Innovation: Health IT as a Catalyst for Healthcare Transformation" in Cleveland and Philadelphia in July to provide non-partisan education to delegates, healthcare professionals, media and the general public. In Cleveland, HIMSS collaborated with the other tenants of the Global Center for Health Innovation to sponsor an education panel. In Philadelphia, HIMSS partnered with our Delaware Valley HIMSS Chapter to host a Game Changing discussion. Read more on the HIMSS blog.

TIGER's new informatics definitions document
TIGER (Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform) compiles interprofessional informatics to collaboratively define and document core health informatics terminology. This provide context to the global TIGER interprofessional, interdisciplinary community when terms are referred to on, official documents and within the TIGER Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). As the field of informatics continues to grow and change, so will the terms defined within this resource. Read the document. HIMSS Longitudinal Gender Compensation Assessment
Leveraging nine years of data from the biennial HIMSS Compensation survey reveals that on average, female health IT workers in the United States have consistently been paid less than their male peers. The magnitude of pay disparities tend to vary under select conditions suggesting compensation equity is possible. This report summarizes the general directional findings of gender disparity in health IT. Learn more.

New HIMSS Analytics research and LOGIC dashboard look at the outpatient solutions market and adoption levels
After eight years of steady growth, there is now nearly universal adoption of outpatient PM & EHR solutions according to new HIMSS Analytics research.
