Revenue Cycle Summit: Call-for-Proposals Opens
HIMSS and Healthcare Finance News are accepting speaker proposals for the Revenue Cycle Solutions Summit on Feb. 19 as part of the HIMSS Annual Conference in Orlando. Click here to submit a proposal before the Friday, 5 p.m. deadline. This event will focus on how providers are using health IT to drive improvement and efficiency throughout the revenue cycle. Case studies and real-life solutions are a priority for the audience to 200+ payer and provider revenue cycle and finance leaders.

HIMSS Cloud Computing Forum: Call-for-Proposals closing Friday
HIMSS and Healthcare IT News are accepting speaking proposals for the inaugural Cloud Computing Forum on Feb. 19 at the HIMSS Annual Conference in Orlando. Click here to submit a proposal and for additional information. The deadline to submit a proposal is Friday, 5 p.m. We are looking for payer and provider organizations to share their experiences with cloud computing, all with the goal of presenting best practices, lessons learned and examining the state and future of cloud computing in healthcare.

A Path Toward an Interoperable Health Record
The HIMSS Interoperability & Health Information Exchange (I&HIE) Committee convened a specialized Work Group that consisted of industry thought leaders, vendor representatives and subject matter experts to review the Draft 2017 ISA and formulate comments to the ONC before the Final 2017 ISA is issued in Dec. 2016. The HIMSS Interoperability Standards Advisory Work Group met over eight weeks to consider the three interoperability areas, and prepare feedback with detailed comments to ONC that culminated in a response submitted on Oct. 23.

HIMSS Submits Comments on 2017 Draft Interoperability Standards Advisory
In an Oct. 23 letter to Dr. Vindell Washington, the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC), HIMSS submitted its comments in response to the 2017 Draft Interoperability Standards Advisory.

Share Your HIE Organization's Story: Participate in a HIMSS HIE Case Study
The HIMSS FY17 HIE Case Studies Task Force is looking for representatives from Health Information Exchange Organizations interested in being interviewed for HIE-focused Case Studies this fiscal year. This is an opportunity to showcase your HIE Organization's successes and lessons learned with the greater Interoperability and Health Information Exchange Community. To volunteer to be interviewed for an HIE Case Study, please complete the short survey by Friday, Nov. 4.

November 2016 Health Story Project Roundtable: Improving the Quality of CDA Documents with Testing and Tooling
On Nov. 7 Didi Davis, from the Sequoia Project, and Nagesh "Dragon" Bashyam, contracting to the ONC, will introduce the community to new tooling being used to improve the quality of the digital content available within several types and versions of CDA Documents, and will provide details on the different aspects of quality that these tools can assess.
